Queen of the Night is an aptly named cactus that blooms at night with a gigantic white flower. They are native to Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico. Peniocereus greggii has a tuberous root system that helps it survive harsh droughts in the Sonoran Desert. In habitat these plants generally look dead, growing inside or alongside desert shrubs, such as creosote, for shade and frost protection. When successfully pollenated they make a large red fruit. These unique cactus grow 2 feet tall and branch out along the main stem. These plants are seed grown, seeds collected from my own mother plants.
